Nasty Gal

Location: Los Angeles, California
Project Type: Tenant Improvement
Area: 50,000 SF

A fast-growing online retailer in 2010, Nasty Gal sought a vibrant, open space with character that would allow for projected growth while maintaining a sense of intimacy – one that would seamlessly house multiple departments and programs. LMA discovered and restored an abandoned two-story space in a historic office building, creating a light filled work environment in a space that had previously been entirely enclosed. Advocating for a scheme that was mostly about subtraction, natural materials and vintage furniture were the few strategic additions to the space to provide warmth and scale. Informal lounge spaces and large break-out tables encourage collaboration and open communication while aiding in zoning of departments.
